Dogtown Lake located near Williams is one of the most popular lakes in Northern Arizona. The lake is 50 acres, being impounded by an earthen dam. Dogtown has an average depth of 15 feet with a maximum depth of 20 feet. The lake is home to numerous species of fish including; Rainbow Trout, Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish, and Crappie. Dogtown is best fished from boat however shoreline access is nearly unlimited. The best baits to use while fishing at Dogtown include Powerbait for Rainbow Trout, hotdogs for Channel Catfish, and worms for everything else in between. For Bass fishing it is recommended to use jig, spinners, and crankbaits around cover in the lake.
Update: As of 2017 the lake has been receiving increased loads of Rainbow Trout that were designated for other lakes in the area. Many anglers are having particular success fishing off the bottom using Powerbait. It is expected to be stocked for the rest of the season and should receive extra trout during each stocking period.
