Trout spawn in the early spring when streams and rivers tend to flow at their maximum. Trout very rarely spawn in lakes making most lake trout stocked fish from a hatchery. The appearance of the fish has always made it a prized sport fish. Having black spots mixed with colors of pink, green, and silver. The best areas in Arizona to fish for Rainbow Trout are Big Lake in the White Mountains, and Willow Springs on the Mogollon Rim.
