Veterans Oasis Lake
Depth: 2-15 feet
Species: Channel Catfish, Rainbow Trout, Sunfish
Water Type: Warm
Veterans Oasis Lake is the newest body of water in Chandler to enter the program. The lake is 5 acres with an average depth of 5 feet and a maximum depth of 14 feet. The lake includes some great additions that have not been previously included in past lakes. The lake feels like a natural oasis due to the fact that the lake is surrounded by desert shrubs and the fact that the lake is not lined by a concrete ring. Veterans is home to Channel Catfish, Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Carp, and Sunfish. The lake resembles Water Ranch in Gilbert which is part of the Gilbert Riparian Preserve. A word of caution as that the water in this lake is reclaimed. Consume fish at your own risk, and do not drink.
Update: Veterans Oasis was stocked with some really big Channel Catfish this year. So big I think I may have caught a record for the year out of there in April. I threw the fish back so somewhere in the depths of Veterans Oasis lies a really big Channel Catfish.
